Technical Lead
Capgemini Technical Lead – Digital Workplace Services
About the Role
The Capgemini Technical Lead is responsible for the technical delivery of their technology area, ensuring high-quality service provision to clients and aligning with the Operations Lead.
⚠️ Critical Note: This role is an onsite position with a requirement to be on the client site 5 days per week (Monday–Friday) in Knowsley. You will also be responsible for facilitating Smart Hands and On-Call services and obtaining IPAF Operator certification to safely work at height.
Key Responsibilities
As the Technical Lead, your responsibilities include:
Technical Delivery & Ownership
- Oversee the senior technical delivery of Digital Workplace Services, ensuring successful and high-quality service provision.
- Manage escalations, incidents, roadblocks, and technical strategy to maintain service stability.
- Ensure SLA targets are met in the technology discipline.
- Lead technical investigations into incidents, issues, and changes, assisting teams in problem resolution.
ITIL & Service Management
- Support ITIL functions to maintain a fully functioning service.
- Cost management for services to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery to clients.
Team Leadership & Escalations
- Lead technical engineers in a collaborative team environment (no direct managerial responsibilities).
- Act as the escalation point for complex technical challenges across multiple teams.
Cross-Account Standardisation
- Work across various client accounts to implement Capgemini governance and standardisation approaches.
- Provide subject matter expertise (SME) both on and off account as required.

Required Skills & Experience
Technical Leadership & Expertise
✔ Senior technical leadership experience in Digital Workplace Services. ✔ Technically astute with Microsoft technologies (e.g., SCCM, Microsoft 365, Standard Operating Environment (SOE)). ✔ ITIL certification (preferred). ✖ Proven knowledge and hands-on experience in:
- Microsoft Windows 11 & Windows 10 (build, configuration, registry settings).
- Microsoft Office proficiency. ✔ Experience with LTSC channels and kiosk environments (desirable). ✔ Active Directory and SCCM (basic understanding). ✔ Networking fundamentals:
- LAN/WAN/vLAN and Wi-Fi technologies.
- DHCP, DNS/WINS, PXE, VPN/remote connectivity concepts. ✔ Microsoft Exchange expertise (email clients, MS Outlook, collaboration tools).
Technical Proficiency
- Problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
