Technical Lead
Technical Lead – Remote (UK-Based)
The remote Technical Lead role is focused on driving the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable software solutions within a global engineering environment.
About the Role
A Technical Lead position is sought by our partner company in the United Kingdom for a remote-based senior engineering leader. This role involves leading the technical direction of projects, ensuring systems are robust, maintainable, and aligned with business goals.
As a Technical Lead, you will:
- Drive scalable software solutions with high-performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Take ownership of technical direction, architectural decisions, and scientific best practices.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (developers, QA, business analysts, designers, and project managers).
- Mentor engineering teams, enforce coding standards, and optimize workflows.
- Mitigate technical risks while delivering high-impact solutions.
Ideal Candidates:
- Senior engineers accustomed to fast-paced delivery environments.
- Focus on automation, CI/CD pipelines, and constant engineering improvement.
Accountabilities
- Lead software architecture design while ensuring:
- High performance, maintainability, and scalability.
- Aligning solutions with business objectives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, enforcing:
- Best practices, clean code principles, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct code reviews and define technical standards to uphold quality.
- Make critical architectural/risk-based decisions while mitigating technical challenges.
- Collaborate with:
- Team members (developers, QA engineers, business analysts).
- **UI/UX designers
- Project managers**.
- Support delivery planning and ensure alignment between technical execution and product requirements.
- Drive automation and DevOps optimisation, including:
- CI/CD pipeline improvements.
- Streamlined development workflows.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience:
- 10+ years in software development, with proveable experience as a Technical Lead or in senior leadership.
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise in software architecture, system design, and solution development.
- Skilled in code reviews, engineering standards, and quality-control processes.
- Fluency in mentoring teams in fast-paced, challenging environments.
- Decision-making and risk management experience.
- Communication excellence: Must interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, in both spoken and written English.
- Preferred:
- Agile/Scrum methodology knowledge.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
