Technical Lead Python
Technical Team Lead
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Team Lead to manage and inspire a multidisciplinary team comprising Frontend, Backend, DevOps, and Design professionals.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a successful history in software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers
- Propose, prioritise and manage backlog tasks for future sprints
- Oversee the development, testing, and implementation of software projects
- Ensure the quality, efficiency, and scalability of the codebase
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and processes
- Develop new features and maintain current production deployments
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to keep systems modern and efficient
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 15+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years in a leadership and people management experience
- Expertise in multiple programming languages, with a strong emphasis on Python
- Experience with modern development frameworks and tools
- Experience in cloud computing, specifically with the AWS ecosystem
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, capable of working effectively in a collaborative team environment

Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Take ownership of team composition, including selection, onboarding, offboarding, and capacity planning.
- Track and monitor team performance, drive continuous improvement, and mitigate challenges by proactively addressing attrition with timely hiring.
Project Ownership & Delivery
- Propose, prioritise, and manage backlog tasks, aligning them with sprint goals and delivery timelines.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of software projects—from development and testing to deployment and post-release support.
- Ensure code quality, efficiency, scalability, and maintainability through code reviews and best practices.
Client Success & Consulting Excellence
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, identifying and proposing impactful solutions.
- Consistently exceed client expectations, delivering outcomes that outperform internal benchmarks.
- Align technical strategies with client business goals, proactively recommending improvements.

Communication & Collaboration
- Bridge the gap between clients, product managers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure alignment and mutual success.
- Facilitate open and transparent communication, fostering a collaborative culture across the organisation.
Technical Expertise & Innovation
- Drive continuously improved engineering practices, processes, and tools.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and methodologies, leveraging them for modern, efficient systems.
- Develop new features, maintain production deployments, and ensure seamless integrations with existing systems.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor and ensure the team meets delivery milestones, balancing scope, quality, and timeline.
- Identify and mitigate risks or bottlenecks early to maintain project momentum.
- Optimise workflows for sustainable team output and reduced technical debt.
Location
- Hybrid role based in London (Hayes area).
- Office presence required: 2–3 times per week.
