Technical Licensing Officer
Salary: Grade GBP £37,509 to £41, Scale 6 - SO1
Contract Type: Fixed Term / Secondment
Contract Length: 24 Months
Contracted Hours: Full Time - 36 hours per week

Hackney Council is looking for a motivated and detail-focused Technical Licensing Officer to join our Private Sector Housing Licensing Service.

Responsibilities
- Process property licensing applications and carry out regulatory checks
- Provide advice and support to landlords, agents, tenants and residents
- Manage enquiries through duty services and shared inboxes
- Maintain accurate records, databases and statutory registers
- Support compliance, enforcement and licensing decision-making
- Contribute to service improvements and digital processes
As you progress to SO1 level, you will take on more complex casework, technical decision-making, quality assurance and mentoring responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Experience in housing, licensing, compliance, regulation or similar environments
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A commitment to delivering high-quality public services
