Technical Leadership Opportunity within Specialist Manufacturing
An established and growing specialist manufacturer is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead its Technical, Quality and Product Development functions. Operating within a highly engineered manufacturing environment, the business supplies specialist products to a diverse global customer base and has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and technical excellence.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager, Quality Manager or Engineering Manager, or an ambitious Process Engineer looking to step into a leadership role, to play a key role in shaping technical strategy, driving continuous improvement and supporting future business growth.
The Role
Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will provide both strategic and hands-on leadership across all technical and quality activities. Acting as the site's technical authority, they will support manufacturing operations, improve product performance, drive quality standards and lead customer-facing technical initiatives.
The position would suit an individual with experience within heavy engineering, fabrication, specialist manufacturing or batch process environments who can effectively lead teams, manage technical challenges and continually improve manufacturing performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
