Company Description

Sysco (whose UK operating companies include Brakes, Fresh Direct, KFF and Medina) is recruiting a Technical Manager to join our Merchandising team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of product quality, safety, legality, and integrity across a portfolio of own-brand and branded products.

Working closely with Category, Procurement, Product Development, and supplier partners, you will provide expert technical support that helps deliver high-quality products, supports commercial objectives, and ensures customer expectations are consistently exceeded.

Role Details

This role is offering a hybrid working contract, with 1 day per week in our Ashford, Kent office for Team Collaboration, so you must be in a commutable distance and open to travel.

This is a varied role that combines supplier management, product governance, and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in supplier approval and performance management, specification and artwork approval, complaint investigation and trend analysis, product risk management, and supporting new product development and sourcing initiatives. Using your technical expertise and commercial awareness, you will identify opportunities to improve quality, reduce risk, and deliver innovative solutions that add value to the business. You'll also stay abreast of industry developments, emerging risks, and regulatory changes, ensuring the business remains compliant and well positioned to respond to market challenges.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
