Junior Technical Manager

Are you working in Technical, QA or Compliance within fresh produce or food manufacturing and looking for your next challenge?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive business where you'll take ownership of your own product category, working with suppliers and customers to make sure products meet the highest standards of quality, safety and legality.

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same! You'll be involved in a variety of technical activities, including:

  • Looking after the technical requirements for your product category.
  • Working closely with suppliers to make sure products meet customer standards.
  • Helping resolve quality issues and supporting improvements.
  • Updating product specifications and technical systems.
  • Monitoring customer complaints and helping identify ways to reduce them.
  • Supporting product trials, benchmarking and customer sample requests.
  • Completing technical reports and customer documentation.
  • Making sure supplier paperwork and due diligence is up to date.
  • Working alongside the commercial, packaging and technical teams on new products and packaging changes.
  • Helping drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.

What we're looking for

You don't need to tick every box, but we're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in a Technical, QA, Quality or Compliance role within food manufacturing or fresh produce.
  • A good understanding of food safety and quality standards.
  • Great organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence communicating with suppliers and colleagues.
  • The ability to manage several tasks at once.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop.
