Technical Manager (Commercial Flooring / Progression to Director)

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + Bonus (OTE £70,000 - £85,000) + Progression to Technical Director Location: Maidstone - Hybrid / International Travel Perks: International Travel, Company Vehicle, Company Benefits

About the Role

You will become the company’s technical authority across commercial flooring and performance flooring systems, responsible for:

  • Providing expert guidance on installations, specifications, and product development
  • Collaborating closely with sales, engineering, and senior leadership teams
  • Delivering bespoke solutions for major international projects
  • Contributing to new product development and setting technical standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support across commercial flooring and performance flooring systems
  • Using practical installation knowledge to advise on specifications and technical solutions
  • Supporting sales and project teams from enquiry to installation completion
  • Assisting with product development, testing, and continuous improvement
  • Supporting major international projects through specifications, drawings, and bespoke solutions
  • Conducting site visits, inspections, and technical assessments
  • Investigating technical issues, installation challenges, and customer claims
  • Liaising with customers, contractors, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and internal teams
  • Hybrid role with a mix of office work, customer site visits, and international travel

The Ideal Candidate

A flooring installer, flooring supervisor, or similar with:

  • Commercial or performance flooring experience
  • Desire to transition from hands-on work to technical management
  • Willingness to frequent international travel
  • Experience with CAD (preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Commutable to Tunbridge Wells
