Technical Manager - FMCG
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Manager to join a fast-growing manufacturer within the health, nutrition and supplements sector.
This business specialises in the formulation, blending and packaging of nutritional supplements and health products, supplying a wide range of customers across the industry.
As Technical Manager, you will play a key role in driving product quality, food safety, compliance and new product development within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong technical professional looking to join a business with ambitious growth plans and high industry standards.
The Role
Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's technical and quality functions, ensuring all products meet legal, safety and customer requirements while maintaining BRCGS AA+ standards.
You will also support new product development activities, customer relationships, audits and continuous improvement across the site.

- Maintain and continually improve the Quality Management System and HACCP processes
- Ensure compliance with BRCGS standards and customer-specific requirements
- Act as the lead contact for customer and third-party audits
- Manage internal audit programmes and corrective actions
- Provide technical support and guidance on food safety, quality and compliance matters
- Support new product development activities, trials and factory scale-ups
- Oversee supplier approval processes and conduct supplier audits where required
- Ensure raw material and finished product specifications are maintained accurately
- Work closely with production and commercial teams to ensure products meet customer specifications and current legislation
- Advise on GMP, hygiene, housekeeping and food-safe manufacturing practices
- Support product launches and artwork approval processes
- Develop, lead and mentor the technical team, including KPI management and staff development reviews
- Drive continuous improvement and promote a positive quality culture throughout the business

Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience within a Technical or Quality Management position in food, supplements or FMCG manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation and quality systems
- Experience working to BRCGS standards
- Understanding of product development and retail/customer standards
- Degree qualified in Food Manufacturing, Food Safety or a related discipline
- Level 4 HACCP and Level 4 Food Safety qualifications
- Lead Auditor qualification highly desirable
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment
