Technical Officer – Construction Products
Location: Sale, Greater Manchester (Near Manchester, Stockport & Altrincham, with good transport links)
Joining Wienerberger UK & Ireland, you’ll be part of Building Product Design, a leader in roofing ventilation, construction membranes, building ventilation, and specialised building products.
About the Role
You will support our customers and colleagues by providing technical advice across roofing, membrane, ventilation, and specialist building products. Your work will include:
- Reviewing drawings
- Providing technical guidance
- Assisting with specification support
- Delivering customer-focused technical support to ensure expert service standards
- Developing your knowledge of the construction sector
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver front-line technical support to customers and internal teams
- Manage and resolve customer inquiries and complaints
- Prepare and interpret thermal transmittance calculations (as per standards)
- Conduct condensation risk analyses (as per standards)
- Perform take-offs and quotations for cavity tray products
- Develop ventilation strategies (residential & commercial)
- Handle specialised/enquiry-based requests for non-standard products
- Monitor customer enquiries, log trends, and identify potential issues
- Provide specification support to sales and roofing teams
- Maintain NBS specifications and BIM content for products

About You
Essential Requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of construction industry and products
- Basic understanding of construction drawings/details
- Numerical aptitude
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt
- Teamwork skills
- Comfortable managing priorities flexibly
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel)
- Strong technical support experience (customers/colleagues)
- Degree, qualification or relevant experience in construction

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in construction product manufacturing
- AutoCAD or Revit knowledge
- Understanding of NBS specifications and BIM
