You will be joining the Development Team within Highways, a successful, supportive, and collaborative team with a wealth of experience.

Role
This diverse and exciting role includes providing specialist technical advice, coordinating activity with third parties to deliver a range of projects and/or services including:
- implementing the Council's Advanced Payments Code
- technical reviews and inspections
- developing innovative, practical transport initiatives to deliver transport infrastructure to support sustainable economic development, housing growth, new local and neighbourhood plans
- you will also play a key part in working with a range of partners and organisations to support sustainable travel and create safe, healthy and people friendly places

Experience
Experience of working within a highway related discipline, with an excellent ability to follow procedures and evaluate problems. You will be able to work in a team environment, with good communication skills and customer service.
Ideally
You will be educated to at least HNC/HND standard in civil engineering or a related subject and have current knowledge of design and construction standards, procedures and techniques.
Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable and will demonstrate your commitment to continuous professional development and that you have gained significant post qualification experience within this field.
