We're looking for a Technical Officer (Asbestos)
We're looking for a Technical Officer (Asbestos) to help us manage asbestos safely, support compliance, and make a positive difference for our customers every day.
What you’ll do
Working as part of our busy Repairs and Maintenance Team, you'll take the lead on the day-to-day management of asbestos across our housing stock. You'll plan and coordinate asbestos-related activities, making sure we meet all legal requirements and follow our policies and procedures.
You'll work closely with contractors, colleagues and customers, ensuring asbestos surveys, removals and other related works are carried out safely, compliantly and to a high standard. You'll also provide advice and support to the wider team, helping us continuously improve the way we manage asbestos and keep our customers safe.
What we’re looking for
To join our repairs and maintenance team, we’re looking for someone with:
- A qualification at Level 3 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework.
- BOHS P402 - Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings.
- Experience of managing, monitoring and reviewing asbestos management processes and procedures.
- A good understanding of asbestos legislation and Health and Safety requirements.
- Experience of working with contractors and ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with required standards.
- Strong organisational with the ability to manage priorities and maintain accurate records.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors and customers.
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and continuously improving the services we provide.
