Technical Product Manager – Storage
Technical Product Manager – Storage 📍 Location: United Kingdom Fair-ember company
About the Role
As a Technical Product Manager – Storage, you’ll shape the vision, strategy, and roadmap for large-scale cloud storage services enabling advanced AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. The role bridges engineering, architecture, and product strategy, translating deep technical systems knowledge into clear priorities and deliverables. Ideal candidates bring hands-on expertise in distributed storage systems, performance optimisation, and cross-functional leadership to build next-gen cloud infrastructure.
Accountabilities
Define and execute the product roadmap and backlog for cloud storage services, including:
- Block storage
- File systems (implementation or configurations like Lustre/GPFS/Spectrum Scale)
- Parallel file systems
- Object storage (e.g. S3-compliant)
Core Responsibilities:
-
Develop and drive storage system initiatives across:
- Durability
- Performance
- Scalability
- Availability
- Cost optimisation
-
Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to refine:
- Data paths
- Consistency models
- Replication strategies
- Erasure coding
-
Defend technical trade-offs (e.g. latency vs throughput, IOPS vs durability, cost per TB) using data-driven quantitative analysis.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
