Technical Product Owner – Payments, Issuing, Ownership, Strategy, REST API, Java, Stakeholder Management – Financial Services – Northampton – Permanent Up To £85,000 base + bonus
My client, a leading financial services organisation, are seeking a Technical Product Owner to join their growing technology team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong blend of technical understanding, stakeholder management, and Agile delivery experience to take ownership and help shape and drive API-led business capabilities.
You will be responsible for defining and driving the application and API strategy across the domain, enhancing APIs to support wider business functions and integration initiatives. You will manage prioritisation across competing demands while streamlining escalation processes as well as collaborating with both business and engineering teams. Despite the technical understanding, the ability to influence senior stakeholders and ensure alignment across both technology and business teams.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience working as a Technical Product Owner within an Issuing or Financial Service environment
- Support the development and implementation of the product strategy and vision defined in the product roadmap
- Experience developing and implementing assessments to ensure continuous testing and improvement of product quality and performance
- Ability to manage and challenge suppliers, internal engineering, and platform teams to deliver on time
- Working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, REST API Fundamentals would be of definite interest
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working within Agile methodologies and cross-functional teams
- Ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams and manage supply and demand across engineering teams, PM's, PO's, and SI partners
