Technical Product Owner - FinTech/Banking - Payments
Excellent opportunity opens for a skilled Technical Product Owner to join a fast pace growing B2B FinTech. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical project management, product development, and a deep understanding of software engineering principles. The Technical Product Owner will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical specifications, managing product backlogs, and ensuring the successful delivery of high quality software products. AI is core, and we expect this role to help shape how AI is embedded both in our product delivery and in how the team operates day to day. As a Technical Product Owner, we will encourage you to embrace a proactive mindset and take complete ownership of your responsibilities. Given our tight-knit team, we value individuals who are eager to take initiative and ensure tasks are completed effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand product priorities and requirements.
- Translate business epics and user stories into well-defined technology epics and tasks that will be needed to realise the product features.
- Ensure that our engineering teams have a clear understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Create and maintain product backlogs, ensuring they are groomed and prioritized effectively.
- Drive the agile development process, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups. Monitor sprint progress and remove obstacles to ensure timely delivery.
- Work with business stakeholders and the development team, providing estimates, guidance, and clarification as needed.
- Conduct regular reviews and retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Use AI tools such as Claude to speed up delivery - e.g. drafting specs and tickets, summarising stand-ups and retros, tracking sprint progress, and reducing time spent on documentation and reporting so more focus goes into unblocking delivery.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and roadmap.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
