An exciting opportunity to join an award-winning creative event production agency, delivering exceptional live experiences for some of the UK’s most recognised brands. If you love technical production and want to be part of a company with ambitious growth plans, this could be your next work home. The role is hybrid with a remuneration range of £30–£40k.


About the Company

They’re a creative event production agency working with the UK’s biggest and boldest brands, delivering everything from high-impact conferences to prestigious industry awards. Based across the UK and Europe, they’re looking for a Technical Production Manager to join their expanding team and deliver outstanding live experiences.

The office is near the M4, features onsite parking, and has a vibrant, collaborative environment.


The Role

Core Responsibilities

This role is hands-on, dynamic, and pivotal in the production team, where variety is the norm.

  • Manage end-to-end technical delivery of live events:
    • Independent oversight of small and medium-sized events.
    • Support for larger, more complex productions alongside senior colleagues.
  • Report to the Head of Technical while collaborating with:
    • One other Technical Production Manager
    • Two Senior Production Managers (handling major events)
    • One Junior Technical Project Manager
    • Project management team (overseeing overall delivery)

  • Key focus areas:

    • Technical design, execution, and post-event reconciliation (from brief to closeout).
    • Supplier staging, equipment logistics, schedules, and onsite problem-solving.
    • Adaptability to high-pressure environments.
    • UK travel for site checks and international events (1–2x per year).
  • Perks:

    • Pay for weekend shifts (event days).
    • Time in lieu for shifts exceeding 10 hours.

Specific Duties

  • Oversee the full technical production lifecycle: briefings, planning, operations, and post-event documentation.
  • Coordinate team resources (suppliers, freelancers, venues, and internal partners).
  • Develop technical plans, including:
    • CAD drawings (preferably using Vectorworks).
    • Equipment lists and safety documentation (hazards, rigging, etc.).
  • Manage project budgets, supplier accounts, and reconciliation.
  • Use internal systems for team collaboration and project tracking.
  • Identify equipment gaps and source efficient, cost-effective solutions.
  • Support virtual/hybrid events with platform schedules and stakeholder briefings.
  • Lead site visits, technical planning meetings, or onsite operations as needed.
  • Proactively manage on-site crews and troubleshoot with confidence.
  • Maintain strict health & safety and compliance protocols to the highest standards.
  • Support company-wide initiatives, including supplier procurement, logistics, and managed production spaces.

Requirements

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years as a Technical Production Manager (preferably end-to-end event production).
    • Welcome applicants from corporate events, music productions, festivals, or stage productions.
  • Broad experience across audience/entertainment production, including:
    • Audio, video, lighting, LED, and streaming systems.
  • Proficiency in technical workflows and equipment escolhements.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., Vectorworks is a strong preference).

Soft Skills

  • Strong financial acumen, making informed budget decisions and negotiating contracts.
  • Cool under pressure, adaptable to real-time changes.
  • Clear communication skills essential for interfacing with clients, suppliers, venues, and teams.
  • Highly organisation-focused, delivering under tight deadlines for multiple projects.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to lead teams with minimal supervision.

Practical Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Access to a vehicle (preferred but flexible).

Ideal candidate understands large-scale production while also thriving in smaller-scale coordination roles.
