Quantemol develops advanced scientific software that makes plasma simulation, electron‑collision modelling, and complex research codes accessible to industry and academia. Role Summary
We are seeking a Technical Programme Manager to lead delivery across our R&D software programmes, customer collaborations, and strategic product initiatives. This role blends programme management, customer‑facing partnership development, and product direction, ideal for someone who enjoys working across scientific research, engineering, and commercial strategy.
You will coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams, guide technical programmes from concept to delivery, and act as a key interface with customers, partners, and internal leadership. You will also help shape product direction, strengthen operational processes, and support new commercial and collaborative opportunities.
This is a hybrid role, requiring two days per week in our London office.

- Lead R&D programmes from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with scientific, engineering, and commercial objectives.
- Plan and manage complex projects including scope, timelines, resources, risks, and budgets.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams across scientific research, software engineering, product, and operations.
- Engage directly with customers to manage technical programmes, build partnerships, and support collaborative development.
- Guide product direction by translating scientific requirements into structured roadmaps and deliverables.
- Identify and shape new opportunities including commercial proposals, grant applications, and collaborative projects.
- Report to leadership and the Board with clear updates on progress, risks, and performance metrics.
- Improve operational processes including governance, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Support customer interactions through technical discussions, progress reviews, and occasional on‑site visits.
- Contribute to company operations across infrastructure, data workflows, and internal systems.
- Ensure compliance with data protection, security, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or computational discipline.
- Experience managing technical or R&D projects in scientific or engineering environments (industry or academia).
- Strong programme management skills: planning, risk management, delivery tracking.
- Ability to work effectively with scientists, engineers, and external partners.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including stakeholder and executive reporting.
- 8+ years of programme management experience.

Exceptional Candidates
- Delivered complex multi‑stakeholder projects in R&D or scientific software.
- Worked directly with customers or external partners on technical programmes.
- Contributed to grant or funding proposals or commercial project development.
- Experience in operational or leadership roles within a small or growing technology company.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
- Background in plasma physics, computational chemistry, or related fields.
- Familiarity with scientific software development workflows and tools.
- Experience with Agile or hybrid methodologies.
- Understanding of data pipelines, scientific databases, or simulation software.
- Experience with budgeting, resource planning, and performance measurement.
