Technical Program Manager – Robotics & Network Infrastructure - ICONIC GLOBAL BRAND / AI LAB
Working model: Hybrid, with on-site attendance required Tuesday through Thursday
Scope: Global, including North America, the UK, and future expansion regions
Pay: £42.31 per hour, PAYE
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to join the Enterprise Engineering team and help scale infrastructure for robotics and AI research laboratories globally.
You will lead complex, high-visibility programs that bridge advanced research requirements with critical security and infrastructure standards. A key part of the role will be delivering secure, reliable “off-corp” networks and technology environments for new robotics sites, often within dynamic timelines and with as little as two to three months’ notice.
This role requires strong technical knowledge of network and server infrastructure, exceptional program leadership, and the ability to bring clarity and structure to fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Key Responsibilities
Site Commissioning and Deployment
- Own the end-to-end roadmap for new robotics site deployments across multiple regions.
- Lead programs from initial requirements gathering and infrastructure design through commissioning and operational handover.
- Coordinate site readiness, hardware delivery, network configuration, testing, patching, deployment, and launch.
- Manage accelerated deployment timelines while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and reliability.
Infrastructure Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of network and server infrastructure.
- Coordinate architecture and design reviews with technical engineering leads.
- Manage hardware ordering, logistics, configuration, patching, installation, and deployment.
- Ensure routers, switches, firewalls, servers, Cisco hardware, and related systems are delivered and configured according to agreed standards.
- Maintain clear documentation, dependencies, milestones, and implementation plans.
Security and Compliance
- Apply and audit security requirements for highly sensitive systems and research environments.
- Ensure network configurations, protocols, access controls, and infrastructure practices meet established “crown jewels” security mandates.
- Partner with security and engineering teams to identify compliance gaps and drive remediation.
- Balance research enablement with enterprise security and operational requirements.

Operational Transition
- Define and manage the transition of newly deployed sites into Business as Usual operations.
- Establish ownership, support models, escalation paths, documentation, and operational readiness criteria.
- Ensure infrastructure teams are prepared to support each site following deployment.
Stakeholder and Risk Management
- Partner closely with the Senior Network Engineer, Infrastructure and Server Lead, security teams, and other internal engineering stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with robotics engineers, technical leads, Directors, and Vice Presidents.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
- Identify risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and delivery blockers early.
- Set realistic expectations and provide practical solutions when priorities compete.
- Maintain stakeholder confidence throughout high-pressure and high-visibility programs.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least five years of technical program management experience, with extensive experience leading complex infrastructure programs preferred.
- Experience working within technology, telecommunications, internet service providers, network infrastructure, or a related technical environment.
- Strong understanding of the network and server hardware lifecycle, including:
- Infrastructure design and architecture
- Hardware selection and ordering
- Network and server configuration
- Patching and security updates
- Deployment, validation, and operational handover
- Working knowledge of routers, switches, Cisco hardware, firewalls, servers, network protocols, and infrastructure security.
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage large, complex, multi-region roadmaps.
- Experience coordinating engineering teams, suppliers, operations teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong risk, dependency, budget, scheduling, and resource-management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments with rapidly changing priorities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills.

Working Environment
- Hybrid working model with mandatory on-site attendance Tuesday through Thursday.
- Regular collaboration with teams in the United States.
- Flexibility to occasionally work between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM UK time.
- Fast-paced, globally distributed, and highly collaborative environment.
- Some regional or international travel may be required depending on site deployment needs.
