Technical Programme Manager

Are you an experienced Technical Programme Manager with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and a proven ability to manage complex cross-team dependencies, looking for your next opportunity?

As a Technical Programme Manager at Thredd, you will lead the successful delivery of complex product and engineering initiatives, drawing on strong experience in program management and large-scale technical project coordination. With a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, you will identify, manage, and prioritise cross-team dependencies to ensure seamless execution.

Acting as a central point of coordination across product, engineering, and operational teams, you will maintain delivery momentum, minimise risk, and ensure alignment on priorities. You will proactively surface critical dependencies, remove or escalate blockers, and provide teams with the clarity and support needed to meet their commitments. A key part of the role is maintaining end-to-end visibility across initiatives while aligning stakeholders to drive efficient and predictable outcomes.

What you’ll be doing as a Technical Programme Manager

  • Understand the commercial implications of delivery delays, dependencies and technical trade offs
  • Support prioritisation decisions that balance delivery feasibility with business value
  • Identify programme risks that may impact product roadmap, contractual obligations or commercial commitments
  • Maintain accurate reporting on programme health, dependencies, risks and delivery progress
  • Clear tracking of dependencies to ensure programme delivery. While supporting consistent delivery standards across programmes and teams
  • Provide clear insight to leadership to support decision making and prioritisation
  • Use data and delivery metrics to highlight potential bottlenecks, blockers or delivery risks
  • Apply appropriate delivery frameworks and practices to improve coordination across engineering and product teams
  • Work with engineering and product teams to optimise delivery workflows and reduce friction
  • Encourage innovative approaches to solving delivery bottlenecks and improving cross team collaboration
  • Identify and manage complex cross team dependencies across product and engineering initiatives
  • Support programme planning by ensuring dependencies are visible, sequenced correctly and prioritised appropriately
  • Proactively identify risks and blockers that could impact delivery and coordinate timely resolution
  • Develop strong understanding of product landscape and technical architecture to effectively manage interdependencies and identify risks
  • Work closely with product managers, engineering leads and technical product managers to understand delivery requirements and roadmap priorities
  • Ensure dependencies between product features, platforms and systems are identified and managed

What You'll Bring To The Technical Programme Manager Role

  • Experience in technical program management, program delivery or large-scale technical project coordination
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Proven ability to manage complex cross team dependencies
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and drive alignment
  • Experience identifying risks and proactively resolving delivery blockers
  • Comfortable working with engineering, product and operational teams

Where you’ll work

Our working model varies depending on the specific role and team requirements. We strive to provide flexibility whilst ensuring that each position is best supported for optimal collaboration and performance.

For this position we’d ideally require you to be in the London office (Holborn) one day per week.
