Technical Programme Manager (Contract)
Location: London
Contract Length: 6 Months inside IR35
Working Pattern: Hybrid
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Programme Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale, complex technology programmes for a global organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior programme professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at stakeholder management, and has a proven track record of delivering complex initiatives across multiple teams.
You will be responsible for driving end-to-end programme delivery, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful outcomes across Engineering, Product, Architecture, Design, and external partner teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and deliver large, complex, cross-functional programmes from inception through to completion.
- Define programme scope, delivery plans, milestones, governance, and execution frameworks.
- Translate ambiguous requirements into structured delivery plans and actionable outcomes.
- Ensure programmes remain aligned with business objectives, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Coordinate multiple workstreams and manage programme dependencies.

Execution & Operational Excellence
- Drive programme execution and maintain focus on critical milestones and deliverables.
- Proactively identify and resolve cross-team dependencies and delivery challenges.
- Ensure engineering commitments are realistic, achievable, and aligned with team capacity.
- Support iterative and agile delivery approaches while maintaining programme control and visibility.
- Hold teams accountable for delivery against agreed plans and objectives.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Build strong relationships across Engineering, Product, Architecture, Design, and external partners.
- Influence and align diverse stakeholder groups to achieve programme objectives.
- Provide clear and concise programme updates tailored to different audiences, including senior leadership.
- Facilitate decision-making by clearly presenting options, risks, impacts, and recommendations.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify and manage risks early, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Escalate issues appropriately with clear context, impact assessments, and proposed solutions.
- Track and manage programme risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies.
- Drive transparency and accountability across all programme activities.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience leading large-scale technology programmes across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to independently own end-to-end programme delivery in complex and ambiguous environments.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and engineering delivery practices.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams across multiple regions and time zones.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical and organisational challenges into clear delivery plans and actions.
- Experience engaging and communicating effectively with senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within media, streaming, or large-scale consumer digital platforms.
- Background working in global or multi-market organisations.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and iterative delivery methodologies.
- PMP, Agile, or related project/programme management certifications.
