About the role

We support the heart of the organisation: our stores. We run programmes that will make our stores better, focusing on how technology can partner with and enhance the stores experience for our Customers and Colleagues. Stores Foundations runs complex programmes that will not only touch our stores but have impacts on the Retail Platform – This platform is the foundation of Tesco Technology and is a mesh of Systems and APIs, all combined to deliver everything Tesco needs from Technology.

In the Stores Foundations team, we could be working with any number of the devices in store, from Checkouts & self-service to bakery printers & PDAs and all the technology that sits behind the scenes: our Infrastructure. We could also introduce new technologies that make our customer or colleague lives even better.

As a TPM for Stores Foundations Programmes, you will play a pivotal role working with the Product Managers, business stakeholders, Engineering teams, and other Programme family members to define and deliver the change to embed new technology into our stores, making them ready for the future.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing a part of the Stores Foundations Programme budget
  • Stakeholder communication of progress
  • Dependency management with engineering teams who currently support the Stores Foundation systems
  • Supporting & managing our technology vendor partners
  • Business case and funding approval for the Stores Foundation programme

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business; the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities:

  • Deliver programmes with business and/or technical risks
  • Optimise or use a standard programme delivery methodology for delivering programme goals (e.g., agile, waterfall, iterative)
  • Bring together, coordinate and energise virtual technology teams to deliver programme goals
  • Create and track a plan to deliver the programme goals, including the technical implementation plan
  • Understand trade-offs and resulting impacts; make impacts visible to Product, Infrastructure or Engineering for the right decision to be made
  • Manage dependences across engineering, operations and technology teams to deliver transparency and visibility for key outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
