The close process runs from the point of data capture into our core accounts close model, followed by the execution of accounting processes, review and interaction with the FP&A function and finishes once the submission is made and queries cleared. Other than core reporting key deliverable for this role involves supporting and leading ongoing business-wide process and procedure change projects relating to core financial reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ownership of Technical Close Process.
  • Responsible for preparation and production of insurance technical result on quarterly basis under UK GAAP and IFRS 17.
  • Provide accurate and timely management and financial information, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local reporting requirements.
  • Quarterly Closing Pack production.
  • Quarterly Financial Reviews of technical result including variance to plan and previous year
  • Assist Technical Reporting Manager with technical result production of Commercial division entities and identification, investigation and explanation of any unusual in-quarter movements.
  • Assist technical Reporting Manager with key system and process enhancements relating tasks such as system parallel runs, comparison of technical result etc.
  • Play key role in change projects and assist Technical Reporting Team with deliverables assigned to it in this respect.
  • Direct liaison with external auditor on all relevant matters
  • Constantly seeks to improve processes within own area of responsibility, ensuring the maintenance of an effective control environment.
  • Support projects aimed at improving the finance processes from entity to Group level
  • Take responsibility for personal and team Health & Safety at all times.
  • Ensure customers are treated fairly in line with Conduct Risk Policy and related procedures.
