Our finance team is expanding, and we’re seeking a motivated Technical and Reporting Accountant with expertise in IFRS to drive financial processes, support an upcoming IPO, and embrace process improvements. Join a collaborative, high-performing team and make an impact.
Location
This role may be based in London or offered remotely in EMEA time zones.
What Your Role Will Look Like
You will be a key part of finance operations, helping ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Your responsibilities include:
- Research and interpret new and existing accounting standards
- Provide technical accounting advice for complex financial transactions
- Draft accounting papers, policies, and documentation
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their business impact
- Assist in the year-end external audit process and support internal audit
- Contribute to month-end reporting, delivering timely data to leadership
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and relevant standards
- Aid in preparing statutory accounts and annual reports across subsidiaries
- Support the broader finance strategy, preparing for an IPO
- Improve financial process efficiency and compliance standards
- Share knowledge with colleagues to facilitate coverage
- Continuously develop your expertise in applicable standards and regulations
- Build relationships with key internal partners

What We Are Looking For
This is a dynamic role for someone with:
- Exceptional academic and professional track record
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent)
- Qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CPA)
- Strong IFRS and local GAAP knowledge
- Experience in financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation
- Preferable: Audit or accounting experience at a large public accounting firm or with a public multinational corporate
- Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Proficiency in business-level written and spoken English
- Aligns with Canonical’s mission-driven values
- Willingness to travel 2–4 times a year for company events (2-week durations possible)
