Hoist UK is a well-established UK manufacturer and supplier of hoists, cranes, and lifting equipment, serving both the industrial and entertainment sectors.
We're looking for an ambitious Technical Sales Engineer who wants to build a long-term career within the lifting equipment industry.
This is not a traditional sales role. We're looking for someone who enjoys understanding engineering challenges, building long-term customer relationships, and developing practical lifting solutions.
Whether you already have experience within the lifting industry or have a strong engineering background and are looking to develop your commercial career, Hoist UK offers structured training, technical mentoring, and a clear progression pathway.
About the Role
Our enquiries range from straightforward hoists and lifting equipment through to bespoke overhead crane systems and engineered lifting solutions, providing a varied and technically rewarding role.
You'll work closely with customers to understand their requirements, carry out site surveys, develop practical lifting solutions, prepare technical quotations and costings, and take ownership of enquiries through to receipt of the customer's purchase order.
Following receipt of an order, projects are handed over to our operations team, allowing you to focus on developing new opportunities and supporting existing customers.
As your knowledge and experience grow, you'll be supported to develop into a trusted technical adviser capable of independently surveying customer requirements, specifying lifting equipment, preparing costings and quotations, and negotiating technically complex projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
