W Christie (Industrial) Ltd are a manufacturer and supplier of torque tooling and bespoke engineered solutions supplying into Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Utilities, Manufacturing, and many more industries, who are looking to successfully increase sales in the North West of England.
Our activities cover a range of torque tooling and accessories, as well as promoting standard tooling, the role is increasingly one of consultation and providing engineered solutions from customers' ideas. Which in most cases are turned into a reality.
We have an impressive client list, that includes major organisations, and we are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer to support and promote the development of our W. Christie expertise.
The Role:
This role has been developed to establish and manage requirements of all customers throughout the North West of England.
The successful candidate will be the technical and commercial link between new existing clients, and W. Christie’s industrial division.

The role will be working from early involvement of site / survey and application requirements, moving to offer of solution and pricing, following up to secure business and handover once completed.
You will exploit your knowledge of the Engineering sector, and the capabilities of W. Christie, to win business by developing and maintaining a pipeline of business opportunities.
Role Expectations:
- Produce high quality, technically accurate, application analysis in support of client projects.
- Understand and be able to sell innovative solutions.
- Understand engineering market needs and translate these into areas of opportunity for W. Christie.
- Develop and maintain a strong client network and key client relationships.
- Collaborate with relevant functions to ensure W. Christie’s design offerings demonstrate compliance to technical requirements.
- Attend design review meetings and provide accurate site details to assist the design process.
- Provide technical bid submissions.

The skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
- Engineering qualification(s).
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- 5 or more years hands on engineering experience.
- Proven track record of applying technical knowledge and a broad understanding of a wide range of industries.
- The ability to accurately assess site restrictions, take and document measurements, and report findings (design engineering experience would be advantageous here).
- Have good business awareness and understanding of commercial issues.
- Excellent communicator and negotiations skills with experience of dealing with customers.
- Calm and diplomatic under pressure.
Salary and benefits include:
- Salary £45,000 - £50,000
- 34 days holiday per calendar year, including bank holidays.
- Further annual leave days are accrued at 1 day every 2 years with a cap at 5 days for 10 years’ service.
- Company closure between Christmas and New Year.
