Technical Sales Engineer / Manager

Aptech (Powder Systems) Ltd is an established engineering company specialising in pneumatic conveying systems, bulk materials handling, powder processing, automation and bespoke process solutions. We have also undertaken a number of special projects for world leading engineering companies.
Established in 1979, we work with customers across the UK and internationally, delivering high-quality engineered solutions to industries including food, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics, minerals and manufacturing.
We are looking for a motivated and commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer / Manager to join our team.

You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining and growing customer relationships, and helping clients identify the right engineering solutions for their process requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and develop sales opportunities
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Manage enquiries from initial contact through to quotation and order
- Visit customer sites (mainly UK) to understand their requirements
- Carryout customer site surveys to gain information for robust recommendation
- Generation of initial P &ID’s and layout
- Working closely with engineering and project teams to develop tailored solutions
- Devise solutions including the selection of proprietary process equipment
- Prepare proposals, quotations and follow-up activities
- Identify opportunities within existing and new industrial sectors
- Support business development activities and company growth
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in technical sales within the process/bulk material handling industry
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
- Experience within materials handling, manufacturing, automation, mechanical engineering or process industries
- Self-motivated, organised and target-driven
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Full UK driving licence

Desirable
- Engineering or industrial process knowledge
- Proven Project Management experience
- Ability and knowledge to create technical drawings
- Electrical/Control/PLC experience
- Marketing /website experience
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary – Up to £60,000 (dependent on experience)

Working Hours
- Full-time, permanent position
- 37.5 hours per week (8.00 – 17.00 with 45min lunch Mon-Thur, 8.00 – 12.30 Fri)
