Control Panel Technical Sales Engineer

Industry: Control Panels / OEM Panels / Switchgear/BMS Systems

Remote: Berkshire, Slough

Competitive Salary, Flexible Benefit, Bonus & Car package | Ref 7820

My client is renowned for designing & manufacturing bespoke electrical control panels to the HVAC controls industry and is now expanding into control panels serving other industries. Our target clients would be OEM manufacturers with a requirement for either bespoke control panels / high volume panels that cater to a diverse range of industry sectors, they have evolved into an organization that provides leading edge solutions. We are now looking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

To succeed as a Technical Sales Engineer, you must have experience in electrical single and three phase low voltage power / controls for commercial / industrial applications. The ideal candidate would also have experience in switchgear panels / develop their understanding of switchgear and variable speed drives. In addition, selling experience of systems is preferred with an existing customer base and be capable of cold calling to new clients and generate sales possibly in new markets (i.e. end user business, Railway contractors, Specialist energy contractors, OEM clients etc.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake estimating and quote all of their own enquiries and assist with enquiries given to them.
  • Work to tight deadlines in order to meet client proposal dates and also to meet pre-defined sales/profit targets.
  • Provide daily / weekly reports detailing customer attendance, sales forecasts, etc.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical single and three phase low voltage power / controls for commercial / industrial applications.
  • Experience in switchgear panels / develop understanding of switchgear and variable speed drives.
  • Selling experience of systems with an existing customer base and be capable of cold calling to new clients.
  • IP / computer networking experience.
  • Electrical knowledge of 400v systems: 3 phase 400v motors, 1 phase motors – knowledge preferably of switchgear motor control centre's / control panels.
  • PC literate / experience and use CRM, Microsoft applications, word, excel, etc.
  • Ability to work alone and as a team player with peers.
  • Time management skills to manage a weekly diary.
  • Regular contact with the director to mutually agree strategies and performance.

Additional Information

This position will involve site visits to carry out surveys on construction / client sites.
