Technical Sales Manager

Salary: A GBP 54,000 per annum

OTE: Up to circa A GBP 60,000 to A GBP 62,000

Location: Warwick

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 5:15pm and Friday, 8:30am to 3:45pm

Role Summary

We are recruiting for a Technical Sales Manager to lead internal sales operations, support component sales growth and ensure customers receive a best-in-class service. Working across technical industrial markets, with a focus on motion control, power transmission, automation, machinery upgrades and engineered solutions the successful candidate will have strong technical understanding and knowledge of these systems.

This is a commercially focused internal sales role, suited to someone who can understand industrial machinery, customer processes and application challenges and who can manage sales processes, support key accounts, improve systems and provide structure across pricing, CRM, purchasing and sales order activity.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for internal sales operations, supporting the smooth running of customer enquiries, sales activity and order processes.
  • Lead the optimisation and effective use of the CRM system, ensuring accurate customer, pipeline and sales information.
  • Support the development of commercial controls, with a focus on improving sales order processes and future ERP/SAP-based automation.
  • Monitor sales and commercial performance using key metrics, preparing reports and updates for senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain product price lists and discount structures.
  • Support the development of prospects and new business opportunities aligned to growth objectives.
  • Oversee and support day-to-day activity on key existing customer accounts for component sales.
  • Promote excellent customer service by understanding customer requirements and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Oversee relationships with existing supply partners, including on-time delivery performance.
  • Present sales updates, KPI data, successes and challenges during regular operational meetings.
  • Create a positive team environment, supporting staff development, coaching and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with internal teams across sales, purchasing, warehousing and wider commercial functions.

Key Skills And Experience

The Technical Sales Manager will need a strong background in internal sales, technical sales, commercial operations or key account support within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial or component-led environment.

  • Proven experience in internal sales, technical sales, sales operations or key account management.
  • Strong understanding of customer service, sales process management and commercial control.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and using sales data to support decision-making.
  • Ability to manage pricing, discount structures, customer accounts and sales reporting.
  • Comfortable working with purchasing, warehouse and supply chain teams to support customer delivery.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Able to lead, coach and support a team while improving processes and performance.
  • Commercially aware, organised and confident working in a fast-paced technical sales environment.
