About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Technical Sales Manager to drive speafkaction growth across the UK’s stormwater sector. In this high-impact, customer-facing role, you will:
✔ Specify product solutions at design stage for infrastructure, residential, and commercial projects-- ✔ Influence key technical decisions with stakeholders (designers, engineers, local authorities, contractors)-- ✔ Position Hydro’s industry-leading stormwater technologies strategically.
This role is ideal for someone with advanced sales expertise, a relationship-building mindset, and a passion for sustainability.
Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive specification sales plan tailored to the UK stormwater market.
- Secure product specifications by engaging with key decision-makers: engineers, designers, local authorities, and major contractors.
- Build and maintain a strong project pipeline, tracking opportunities via CRM tools (Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Present CPD sessions to architecture and engineering firms to educate stakeholders on Hydro’s innovative technologies.
- Represent Hydro at trade shows, industry events, seminars, and exhibitions.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to support accurate forecasting, project conversion, and territory oversight.

Technical & Operational Support
- Work closely with technical teams, proposals, and customer service to ensure seamless solutions delivery.
- Provide market insights on trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Ensure strict compliance with:
- Health & Safety at Work Act
- ISO 9001 standards
- Sustainable stormwater practices
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications

Essential:
- Proven experience in technical sales within the construction sector; preference for Civils/Infrastructure.
- Strong track record in specification-led sales and building project relationships.
- Ability to deliver CPDs or technical presentations.
- Experience with CRM Systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus).

Preferred:
- Expertise in stormwater, drainage, or environmental engineering.
- Knowledge of SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) regulations, legislation, and planning frameworks.
Tools & Technology
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Digital project intelligence tools (e.g., Barbour ABI)
- MS Office Suite + digital presentation platforms
Skills & Attributes
- Technical & Sector Expertise:
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and design documents.
