Business Development Executive / Sales Executive /Technical Sales Manager

Working directly for the Managing Director as part of a small, ambitious team shaping the future of six specialist engineering companies

Are you a natural relationship-builder with a passion for technical products, problem-solving and helping customers find the right solution? Do you thrive in hands-on environments where no two days are the same? If so, this is a rare opportunity to join a small, friendly team and play a key role in the evolution of a growing group of niche engineering businesses.

We’re a collection of six specialist companies, each with its own unique products, customers and history, all owned and led by Managing Director John Tyrrell, a seasoned technical sales professional. Every business has been acquired from retiring founders, and each one has huge potential for growth meaning your impact will be visible, valued and genuinely important.

Who we are

You’ll be working across a fascinating mix of technical product lines:

  • UK-designed web tension measurement and control systems used in paper converting, plastics, composites and printing.
  • The UK’s largest manufacturer of handheld bat detectors, trusted by ecologists, wildlife wardens and conservation groups worldwide.
  • Materials testing equipment for rubber, plastics and composites, plus UK & Ireland distribution for leading European and US manufacturers.
  • Specialist gas analysers for NO, NO₂, NOx and Ammonia, used in industrial and medical applications, with technical support and onsite calibration.
  • Unique mercury spill kits used in hospitals, dentists, laboratories and museums to meet HSE requirements.
  • UK manufacturer of heat-flux and temperature data loggers, oven camera systems and profiling equipment for commercial belt ovens.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
