voestalpine Böhler Welding UK Limited is part of the international voestalpine Group, a world-leading provider of welding consumables, equipment and solutions. We are looking for an experienced and technically driven Technical Sales / Product Specialist FCAW to support our continued growth across the UK and Ireland.
This is a unique opportunity for a welding professional with strong metallurgical and application knowledge to combine technical expertise, customer engagement and business development in a highly visible role. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting our commercial sales team, developing new business opportunities and delivering technical excellence to customers, distributors and colleagues.
About the Role
As Technical Sales / Product Specialist FCAW, you will be a technical expert for our welding consumables portfolio, providing solutions to customer challenges and supporting the achievement of annual sales objectives. You will also lead the development of our Flux-Cored Wire (FCW) product range across both joining and maintenance & repair applications.
You will be responsible for delivering technical training, conducting product trials and demonstrations, supporting customer development activities, and acting as the first point of contact for technical enquiries. You will also oversee our local welding workshop and training facilities while working closely with sales, marketing and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the commercial sales team to identify, win and develop customer opportunities.
- Provide expert technical support on welding consumables, metallurgy and welding applications both remotely and on-site.
- Conduct product testing, application trials and competitive benchmarking activities.
- Deliver technical seminars, presentations, workshops and customer training programmes.
- Develop and maintain welding knowledge resources and technical documentation.
- Support marketing initiatives including exhibitions, technical articles, case studies and social media content.
- Act as the first-level technical contact for customer support cases.
- Drive growth of the FCW portfolio and achieve product-specific business targets.
- Maintain and manage the UK welding workshop and training school facilities.
- Forecast product demand and collaborate with internal teams to optimise stock availability.
- Travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays where required.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in welding applications and modern arc welding processes.
- Proven technical expertise in welding consumables and application support.
- Excellent customer-facing and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across sales, technical and operational teams.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively.
- Knowledge of CRM systems, SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience supporting distributors and channel partners.
