Job Description
Are you an experienced Technical Sales Representative with a passion for engineering and manufacturing? Our client, a globally recognised leader in precision measurement and metrology solutions, is looking to appoint a Technical Sales Representative to manage and grow an established customer base across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional who enjoys building long-term customer relationships while identifying new business opportunities within the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
As Technical Sales Representative, you will be responsible for:
- Developing existing accounts
- Generating new business
- Providing customers with technical expertise to deliver the right metrology and measurement solutions

- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing customer accounts across the Midlands region.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within engineering and manufacturing markets.
- Visit customer sites to understand application requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers through regular account management.
- Generate and qualify sales opportunities, working closely with internal technical specialists where required.
- Produce quotations, negotiate commercial agreements, and successfully close sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, and sales activity using the CRM system.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure excellent customer service throughout the sales process.
- Respond to customer enquiries regarding pricing, product availability, and lead times.
- Represent the business at exhibitions, customer events, and product demonstrations.
- Support customer account queries in collaboration with internal finance and customer service teams.
- Work towards achieving and exceeding agreed sales targets and KPIs.

Experience, Skills & Qualification
- Previous experience within a technical sales, field sales, or account management position.
- Background within engineering, manufacturing, metrology, precision measurement, or industrial products would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially driven with a proactive approach to winning new business.
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to develop product knowledge.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage your own diary and sales territory effectively.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with internal teams.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
