Technical Sales Representative - Wind UK and Europe.
IPS is seeking a Technical Sales Representative focused on business development, client relationship management, and sales strategy development within the Renewable energy sector.
This position will be expected to grow and develop existing customer accounts, advise customers on service centre capabilities, introduce new services to customers as well as providing technical information, and identifying / developing new customer accounts in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow the company's market share and customer base.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the renewable energy sector. For smaller-scale projects, this can be done by following up on inbound inquiries, while larger projects will involve proactive business development.
- Oversee the entire sales process, from initial contact and technical proposal development to negotiation, quotation, closing deals, and providing after-sales support.
- Present sales figures, analyze margins, and provide realistic sales forecasts to senior management.
- Monitor market trends, shifts, competitor activity, and new products to maintain a competitive edge.
- Build and nurture strong customer relationships and provide ongoing support throughout the sales process.
- Offer technically led sales consultations, understanding customer needs and aligning them with wind energy solutions.
Qualifications And Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business, educational focus in technical disciplines is preferred.
- Several years of experience in the renewable energy sector or a related field.
- Proven B2B sales success in the renewables sector, or similar.
- Strong technical knowledge of renewable energy technologies and solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and consultative sales skills.
- Proven ability to foster and manage customer relationships.
- Familiarity with sales techniques, CRM systems, and computer skills including email, internet, data entry, and MS Excel.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and Europe.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours required to respond to client emergencies.
