Are you an experienced sales professional with expertise in scientific laboratory equipment? Are you looking for an exciting new challenge working with a specialist range of products?

Our client is a well-established and highly reputable company specializing in a range of scientific equipment such as Atomic Absorption, ION Chromatography, ICP, TOC amongst others. The company partners with some of the leading industry manufacturers and has built up a great reputation in the market. They are now looking to hire a Technical Sales Specialist to join and lead their friendly and supportive commercial team.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the growth and development of the UK territory by identifying, targeting, and securing new customer accounts while strengthening existing relationships.
  • Consistently achieve and surpass sales targets through proactive business development and effective account management.
  • Build a strong pipeline of opportunities through prospecting, networking, and territory planning to maximize sales performance.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's product portfolio, commercial strategies, sales tools, and pricing structures.
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer challenges and business objectives, positioning solutions that deliver measurable value and address their specific needs.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and coordinate customer engagement activities, including workshops, roadshows, exhibitions, and other promotional events.
  • Support the planning and execution of marketing initiatives, including product launches, seminars, webinars, exhibitions, roadshows, and other customer engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, opportunities, and activities within the company’s CRM system.
  • Act as a key source of local market intelligence, providing valuable customer insights, market feedback, and industry knowledge to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively across Sales, Marketing, and Operational teams.
  • Support product installations and deliver customer training, ensuring users gain maximum value and confidence from their investment.

To be considered for this opportunity

  • 3+ years' technical sales experience using analytical instrumentation within the field.
  • Technical knowledge of Ion Chromatography, Total Organic Carbon, AA, ICP, and elemental analysers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proven ability to negotiate confidently and influence positive outcomes.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable building relationships and presenting confidently in customer-facing environments.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK.
  • Willingness to undertake international travel for training and professional development.
  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or another relevant physical science discipline.
  • Scientists looking to transition into a commercial or technical sales role, with a passion for customer engagement and business development, are encouraged to apply.
