Technical SEO/Migration Specialist FTC @NET-A-PORTER & MR PORTER
The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Technical SEO/Migration Specialist to join our SEO team. This role will support a major website migration project whilst ensuring the ongoing crawlability, indexability, and organic performance of our luxury e-retail websites. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical SEO expertise, a strong understanding of web development principles, and a proven ability to write clear developer specs.
Contract type: 12 months FTC
Responsibilities
Write Technical SEO Requirements: Document clear, detailed, and actionable technical specs and user stories for web developers, translating SEO needs into implementation-ready requirements for both migration features and BAU updates. Support Website Migration Execution: Execute critical technical SEO migration tasks, including redirect mapping, pre- and post-launch auditing, and monitoring to minimise impact on organic performance. Maintain BAU Technical Health: Conduct routine technical audits and optimise core elements like crawl budget, site architecture, XML sitemaps, and structured data to keep everyday organic performance strong. Collaborate with Dev & IT Teams: Partner closely with web development and IT teams to ensure technical SEO best practices (Core Web Vitals, mobile-first indexing, hreflang) are accurately integrated into the release pipeline. Performance Monitoring & Insight: Track, analyse, and report on site health metrics using Google Search Console and Lighthouse, translating technical findings into clear insights for stakeholders.

Requirements
Technical SEO Experience: 3–4 years of experience as a Technical SEO Specialist (ideally within an e-commerce or luxury retail environment) with hands-on experience working on website migrations. Requirement Writing & Tech Literacy: Proven experience writing clear technical briefs or tickets for developers, with a deep understanding of search engine crawling, indexing, and ranking factors. SEO Toolset Proficiency: Strong hands-on proficiency with tools like Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, OnCrawl, and Lighthouse.

Bonus Points
Proficiency in SQL for SEO data analysis. Experience with Python for SEO data manipulation and automation. Familiarity with data visualization tools. Knowledge of applying statistical methods to SEO data.
