Technical Service Chemist

Location: Cheshire East
Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)
Term: Permanent

SRG are working with a market-leading materials manufacturer specialising in the development and production of advanced coated products for a range of industrial applications. They are now seeking a Technical Service Chemist to join their technical team in Cheshire East on a permanent basis.

Role/Description

  • Prioritise and coordinate technical service requests to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Support customer requirements and short-term product development activities.
  • Conduct laboratory testing safely, accurately and in line with agreed procedures and standards.
  • Ensure testing data is recorded, analysed and communicated effectively.
  • Coordinate and support production and customer trials when required.
  • Work closely with technical teams and wider stakeholders to align priorities and resources.
  • Support investigations into quality issues, customer enquiries and product performance concerns.
  • Assist with technical reports and recommendations based on laboratory findings.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all H&S, compliance and training standards are met.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across technical and laboratory activities.

Requirements

  • Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related discipline.
  • Proven industrial experience in laboratory testing, technical service, quality control or R&D.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and with customers.
  • Experience within coatings, adhesives, paper, film or a related manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of statistics, data analysis or design of experiments would be advantageous.
  • Project management experience is beneficial but not essential.
