• Technical Services & Calibration Engineer Kent (Hybrid with Quarterly International Travel) Salary negotiable (subject to experience)

R3vamp has partnered with a growing provider of scientific instrumentation, calibration services, and technical solutions across the UK and Africa. Their work spans partnerships with major manufacturers to deliver:

  • Installation
  • Servicing
  • Maintenance
  • Calibration
  • Training

Target sectors include:

  • Pharmaceutical
  • Food & beverage
  • Education
  • Oil & gas
  • Environmental
  • Research

Notes:

  • This role includes quarterly international travel (~1 week every quarter)
  • Candidates must commit to regular business travel and customer support

The Role

The ideal candidate will handle responsibilities such as:

  • ✔ Installing, commissioning and validating scientific laboratory instrumentation
  • ✔ Performing preventive maintenance, servicing and calibration
  • ✔ Diagnosing/flaw diagnosis of electrical, mechanical and software faults
  • ✔ Delivering customer training on laboratory equipment protocols
  • ✔ Providing local and remote technical support for installations
  • ✔ Attending manufacturer training (online + in-person, Europe-based)
  • ✔ Assisting in laboratory setup projects and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation
  • ✔ Contributing to operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

Essential

  • A degree or HND in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a similar discipline
  • 3–5 years' experience serviceing analytical laboratory instrumentation (Highly relevant experience preferred for: HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, or spectroscopy equipment)
  • Practical experience with installation, commissioning and maintenance of lab equipment
  • Sharp diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities (fault-finding)
  • Proven track record of delivering customer training
  • Strong communication & customer service skills
  • Valid ** Fuller UK driving licence** (for UK site travel)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Valid passport (or eligibility to obtain one)

Desirable

  • Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory standards
  • Prior work in GMP/GLP regulated environments
  • Technical experience with materials testing equipment
  • Hands-on exposure to laboratory setup and validation processes
