Join us as a Technical Services Manager
We are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Services Manager to lead the delivery of hard FM services for our prestigious client, Aviva, based at their Drummond Street office in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong facilities management professional to take ownership of:
- Building engineering performance
- Compliance
- Maintenance delivery
- Contractor management
within a high-profile corporate environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of critical building services while driving service excellence and continuous improvement.
The Role
As Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management and performance of all hard services across the site, ensuring:
- Statutory compliance
- Engineering excellence
- Exceptional customer service
Working closely with the client, suppliers, and the wider WPS team, you will provide:
- Technical leadership
- Service delivery management
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across all building engineering systems.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Statutory requirements
- Regulatory standards
- Client and company policies.
- Manage specialist contractors and service partners, monitoring performance against:
- KPIs
- SLAs
- Oversee building systems, including:
- HVAC
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- BMS (Building Management Systems)
- Water hygiene
- Life safety systems.
- Drive a strong HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) and quality culture across the site.
- Support the planning and delivery of:
- Minor works
- Capital projects.
- Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities for:
- Improved reliability
- Increased efficiency
- Better sustainability.
- Conduct:
- Technical audits
- Inspections
- Compliance reviews.
- Manage permit-to-work processes and ensure adherence to safe systems of work.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with:
- The client
- Key stakeholders.
- Produce:
- Operational reports
- Performance reviews, with:
- Technical insight
- Recommendations.
- Support:
- Business continuity planning
- Critical incident management where required.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance:
- Service delivery
- Customer experience.

About You
We’re looking for a confident and knowledgeable technical professional passionate about delivering first-class facilities management services.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a role such as:
- Technical Services Manager
- Engineering Manager
- Contract Manager
- Building Services Manager
- Or similar within Facilities Management.
- Strong knowledge of hard FM service delivery within commercial or corporate environments.
- Experience managing:
- Maintenance contracts
- Specialist suppliers
- Engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of:
- Statutory compliance
- Engineering best practice.
- Experience working within a customer-focused environment with responsibility for:
- Client relationships.
- Strong familiarity with Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) building services and critical infrastructure.

Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualification in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Building Services Engineering.
- Health & Safety certification, such as:
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
- Demonstrable understanding of:
- Current facilities management legislation
- Compliance requirements.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- Commercial awareness and experience in budget management.
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proactive, collaborative, and results-driven approach.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.
