Job Description

Job Role:

Technical Services Engineer

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week – flexible to meet business needs.

Pay:

£35,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location:

Ideally based in the North West/Chester area, with regular national travel required. Nationally based candidates willing to travel frequently across the UK are also welcome.

Reports to: Technical Services Director.


Overview

We are seeking an experienced electronic security systems engineer for our Technical Services division within Anchor Group Services.

Requirements:

  • Experience installing and maintaining:
    • Intruder alarms, access control, and CCTV systems.
    • Manufacturers: Hikvision, Dahua, Avigilon, Galaxy, Texecom, Pyronix, Paxton, Hid & Assa Abloy.
  • Basic experience with:
    • ANPR cameras and car park management systems.
    • Rapid deployment systems (training provided as necessary).

  • Installing and maintaining electronic security systems, including:
    • Intruder alarms (wired & wireless)
    • Access control systems
    • CCTV systems
    • Automated gates/barriers
    • Intercom systems
    • Rapid deployment systems.
  • Assisting with:
    • Car park management systems (ANPR cameras, 4G routers, payment machines, exemption tablets)
    • Site surveys
    • System designs
  • Troubleshooting support and fault-finding.
  • Undertaking civil works (cable ducting, camera/additional pole installation, base/machine repairs).
  • Completing essential paperwork.

Flexibility is required to meet diverse customer demand nationwide. Overnight stays are sometimes necessary, but include travel perks.


Main Responsibilities

  • Installing and maintaining:
    • Wired and wireless intruder alarm systems
    • Access control systems
    • CCTV systems
    • Automated gates/barriers
    • Intercom systems
  • Handling rapid deployment projects
  • Assist sales team with:
    • Site assessments
    • System design proposals.
  • Diagnosing faults and resolving system issues.
  • Performing civil work:
    • Cable ducting
    • Installations of camera/signage poles, etc.
  • Completing all relevant documentation.

Requirements:

  • Clean 5-year employment history (verifiable).
  • Full driving licence (essential).
  • Previous industry-related experience (essential).
    • ANPR systems/car park management systems (desirable).
  • Qualified electrician (highly desirable).
  • Valid ECS card and IPAF licence (desirable).
  • Training-ready with:
    • Safe systems of work
    • Strong problem-solving
    • Organisational efficiency
  • Strong IT proficiency and networking knowledge.
  • Clear, professional communication skills.
