Technical Services Engineer

Location: Teesside International Airport

Are you an experienced aviation engineer with a passion for solving complex technical challenges?

At Willis Aviation Services Limited (WASL), we're expanding our engineering capability and are looking for a Technical Services Engineer to provide expert technical support across our Base Maintenance operation.

Working closely with Production, Planning, CAMO, Part-21 organisations and aircraft manufacturers, you'll play a key role in ensuring maintenance, repairs and modifications are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with UK CAA and EASA regulations.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing technical support for aircraft maintenance, repairs and modifications.
  • Developing repair solutions using approved engineering data.
  • Liaising with customers' CAMO and Part-21 organisations to support maintenance activities.
  • Working directly with OEMs to obtain technical support, engineering approvals and repair data.
  • Reviewing Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and engineering documentation to support maintenance planning.
  • Supporting production teams with complex technical troubleshooting.
  • Creating engineering instructions and technical documentation within the maintenance management system.
  • Advising Planning, Production and Procurement teams on tooling, materials and technical requirements.
  • Supporting structural repairs and aircraft modifications throughout maintenance inputs.
  • Developing and maintaining engineering task cards and technical documentation within the Willis ERP system.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and providing technical guidance to engineering teams.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A minimum of 5 years' aviation engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a Technical Services or similar engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK CAA and EASA regulations, including Part-145, Part-CAMO and Part-21.
  • Excellent understanding of aircraft structures and Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs).
  • Experience interpreting Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and OEM technical publications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, OEMs and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive, organised and collaborative approach to work.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
  • Knowledge of the Boeing SMAL process.
  • Experience using aviation maintenance software, including Tracking+ (Rusada).
