Bulb Interiors Technical Services Manager Cambridge, United Kingdom

Role Profile As a Technical Services Manager (TSM), you will be assisting in the production of Building Services MEP Designs for tender by our supply chain, and the installation of Building Services on site. This includes responsibility for day-to-day management of the services-related project elements and responsibility for managing multiple projects at different stages, simultaneously from an MEP perspective. Responsibilities Leading projects from their inception, ensuring designs are completed on time and in line with a client’s budget Organising the production of MEP performance specifications to RIBA Stage 2/3 for the supply chain to tender on a D&B basis. Develop specifications, drawings and & schedules. Carry out building surveys/appraisals and produce reports and recommendations for existing and/or new MEP services including BMS controls. Assist & advise the Pre-Construction and Design teams with key issues, problem solving, identification of risk, and budgeting of MEP services. Input into, and Evaluation of Sub-Contractor tender bids and design documentation. Assisting Sales in pitching projects and putting together MEP information for client presentations. Chair MEP site meetings, offer technical advice, and monitoring of sub-contractor progress. Review and Approval of Sub-Contractor technical submissions and drawings. Attend, and chair where appropriate, meetings with the client, the designers, specialist contractors and other team members. Assisting the DPM with void closure and periodic MEP inspections / sign off’s where required. Prepare commissioning programmes and manage the commissioning process where required. Contribute to the regular project reports and attend project meetings, including formal Quality Audits on ongoing and completed projects. Operational responsibility for delivery of building services engineering works in terms of compliance and quality.

Skills & Experiences Experience in the fitout industry, ideally with involvement in medium (£10m+) and preferably at least one large (£20m+) project. Knowledge of mechanical, public health, electrical and life safety building services. Knowledge and understanding of local market and subcontractors. Knowledge of the pre-construction process, ideally with knowledge of managing the design phase of a project Recognised qualifications in building services engineering. Knowledgeable of local building services codes of practice, and health & safety standards / systems. Ideally, experienced in the use of Microsoft Project / Vista and Construction Project Management software. Ability to collate information from the team to prepare and present the project report. A relationship focused approach to clients and sub-contractors.
