About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven IT professional with strong End User Computing experience and excellent Leadership and Communication skills to join our IT department. Working in a busy and dynamic environment, you will be responsible for guiding the work of the End User Computing Team providing a leading-edge desktop environment for internal users. This will include deploying and managing a modern desktop environment (plus supporting infrastructure), defining and delivering the transformation strategy for the desktop environment and contributing to the service operations improvement.
Responsibilities
- Deploying and managing a modern desktop environment (plus supporting infrastructure)
- Defining and delivering the transformation strategy for the desktop environment
- Contributing to the service operations improvement
- Ensuring our IT Service Desk delivers a high-quality service to end users
- Collaborating with Infrastructure and Projects teams to evolve standards for hardware, software and security in the desktop environment to improve Desktop
Key Tasks:
- Managing the whole desktop computing environment to ensure that laptops, Desktops and other access devices are built and maintained to high standards of performance and security.
- Application Packaging and deployment with Install shield or equivalent applications with modification and creation of custom MSI packages.
- Managing the deployment of desktop images using VDI technologies such as VMware Horizon View.
- Deployment of Windows Apps using an MDM.
- User Profile Management techniques regards to Roaming profiles, User Profile Disks and 3rd party technologies (Citrix Profile Manager/Profile unity etc.).
- Auto Provisioning of devices using Azure cloud, Intune device management and dual joining of computers to on-perm AD and Azure AD.
- Managing all EUC service desk incidents and changes to ensure that the appropriate staff are engaged.
- Patch management of windows end user devices (Manage Engine).
- User management (Active Directory, File services, printing).
- Cyber Security hardening of desktop images to provide users a secure, on-demand and scalable computing environment.
- Change Management should be used for any changes to image versions and the post holder must manage this process.
- Working with Cyber Security, IT Compliance & Risk Management to maintain low operational risks.
- Managing the EUC Team which consists of 4 members of the team. Ensuring relevant PDR’s, Training and developments are completed.
