Technical Services Supervisor
EQUANS are looking for a Technical Services Supervisor to be based in Salford for our Tameside and Salford Hospitals contract. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
Based at Salford Royal Hospital, the Technical Services Supervisor will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within the Salford Royal Hospital contract. They will provide guidance to others on site, showing technical expertise in Facilities Management delivery, to ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery.
- Accountable to the Technical Services Manager (TSM) for the day-to-day supervision, monitoring, and performance of the contract.
- Be accountable for the work flow throughout the team and work closely with the helpdesk to provide efficient and effective maintenance delivery.
- Supervision of a multi-discipline mechanical/electrical/fabric workforce.
- Support TSM in the planning and implementation of change to improve service and operational quality and customer satisfaction.
- Facilitate cooperation between Technical, Security, Helpdesk, and Client staff.
- Balance and allocate as required Planned Works, Reactive Works, and Lifecycle works, to ensure contract compliance with Service Level Agreement timeframes.
- Install, commission, and service plant equipment and industrial furniture.
- Diagnose, fault-find, debug, and commission systems, monitor, and assess ongoing machine/facility performance, through PPM programme, identifying any additional works required.
- Price minor works projects for both in-house and contracted works.
- Ensure maintenance and other records are maintained to an appropriate standard and in accordance with site policy.
- Requirement to take on Authorised Person, Competent Person, or Responsible Person duties once fully trained and site aware.
- Interface with suppliers and service providers as required to meet the needs of the service.
- Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
- Carry out return-to-work interviews and other HR type interventions as necessary.
- Lead and organise Team meetings, including delivery of Toolbox talks and other training.
- Escalate issues to TSM as appropriate.
- Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems, and deal with them to their conclusion.
- Supervise and participate in the on-call system.
- Assist other EQUANS Healthcare contacts if required.
- CAFM knowledge and experience, running reports, interrogating the system, analysing workload, etc.
- Train to become an authorised person in various disciplines.

Impact:
The individual will play a vital role in EQUANS, working alongside an already established technical team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.
Complexity:
The primary complexities of the role are around the management of the workflow from Helpdesk/Maximo through to completion and sign-off. Communication with clients and customers is critical to this role. Working in a live hospital, 24/7, requires careful planning of Maintenance works, and collaboration with stakeholders is key.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
- Strong customer focus with experience of delivering high standards of Customer Service. Previous FM experience within a hospital and/or PFI environment would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge, experience, and understanding of HTMs would be an advantage.
- Currently trained and/or experienced in RP/AP duties in at least two of the following: water management (Legionella), ventilation in healthcare premises, medical gases, etc. would be an advantage but not essential.
- Apprentice trained and qualified/experienced within a mechanical/electrical background.
- Basic computer literate.
- Understanding of HR related items.
- Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
- Preferably experienced with HVAC, pump systems, medical gases, steam systems, pressure systems, water systems, and legionella.
- Knowledge of Building Management systems.
- Sound knowledge of the practical implementation of Health & Safety.
- Full driving license required.
- Authorised Person experience.
