Technical Services Training & Compliance Assistant Manager
Location: Chessington World of Adventures
Hours: 40 hours a week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: GBP £39,500.00 per year
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Contracts & Compliance, the Technical Training & Compliance Assistant Manager plays a key role in developing, implementing, and monitoring engineering, safety, and training compliance across the maintenance function at Chessington World of Adventures. The role has a strong focus on ensuring safe and compliant ride maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee planned and reactive workflows via Planet Enterprise for Technical Services
- Lead compliance strategy, ensuring ride safety and maintenance standards
- Develop and maintain compliance records, procedures, and risk assessments
- Create and review safe systems of work and standard operating procedures
- Manage small technical projects through to successful delivery
- Drive efficiency improvements, including engineering competency tracking
- Act as a focal point for departmental initiatives, owning and progressing key actions
- Partner with Health & Safety teams to ensure consistent compliance standards
- Conduct audits and reviews to maintain health & safety excellence
- Manage statutory inspections and associated documentation for rides and equipment
- Oversee IFM supplier relationships and performance
- Coordinate Working at Height reviews across the department
- Support training delivery and ensure accurate, up-to-date training records
- Identify procedural gaps and implement improvement plans
- Mentor and manage engineering apprentices throughout their development

Requirements
- Experience: Essential working within the Theme Park industry
- Strong understanding of:
- Safety standards
- Compliance regulations, particularly in ride-related maintenance operations
- Experience in developing and implementing robust compliance strategies and procedures
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in delivering and leading meetings with cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with:
- Cross-functional departments
- External stakeholders
- Contractors
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address compliance and operational challenges
- Strong people management skills, including:
- Ability to lead and motivate teams towards achieving compliance and project goals
- Flexible availability around park hours, including weekends and holidays
- Confidence in:
- Asking questions
- Challenging the status quo
- Driving continuous improvement
