Technical Shift Line Lead – Wrexham
About the Role
As our Technical Shift Line Lead, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our production lines while leading and developing a team of multiskilled technicians. Based at our Wrexham manufacturing site, you’ll be the key link between the shift craft team and the broader Maintenance function, helping deliver exceptional results in safety, quality, service and cost.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on technical leadership with people development and continuous improvement—collaborating closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams to drive reliability, capability building and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to a team of multiskilled technicians, fostering a high-performing, safety-focused culture.
Maintenance & Operational Excellence
- Coordinate maintenance execution, managing maintenance priorities, breakdown responses and shift maintenance plans to maximise equipment availability and operational performance.
- Lead reliability improvement initiatives, supporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability, throughput and overall equipment effectiveness.

Training & Skills Development
- Facilitate training plans, skills matrices and ongoing development activities to build and strengthen technical capability across the team.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion safety, food safety and compliance standards across all maintenance activities to ensure high operational and regulatory integrity.
Requirements & Experience
- A technical or engineering qualification, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or a comparable production setting.
- Strong expertise in maintenance planning, equipment reliability and operational performance.
- Experience using SAP or a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
- In-depth knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
