About the Role
The Role
Our nationwide Trenching and Shoring division hires a wide range of equipment across the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors, delivering safe and effective excavation support solutions including trench boxes, trench sheets and brace systems.
Reporting directly to the Head of Trenching and Shoring, the Technical Solutions Manager will be responsible for maximising Trenching & Shoring hire revenue opportunities across existing major accounts and targeted new business within the region. The role will involve identifying and developing new workstreams, maintaining a strong sales pipeline, engaging early in large-scale regional projects and delivering presentations to major account customers at director and senior procurement level. Working closely with Regional Sales Managers, Regional Account Managers, area sales teams, Regional Directors, Heads of Department and General Managers across the GAP Group network, the successful candidate will proactively promote Trenching & Shoring opportunities, support the wider sales force, maintain excellent service standards and represent the GAP brand professionally at all times.

- A strong track record in identifying and maximising Trenching & Shoring hire revenue opportunities within existing key accounts and targeted new business accounts
- Minimum of 5 years Temporary Works experience
- Proven ability to generate new business opportunities by researching target workstreams, maintaining a strong sales pipeline and engaging early in major regional projects
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to engage customers and internal stakeholders at director, senior procurement and operational level
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work closely with Regional Sales Managers, Regional Account Managers, General Managers and Technical Sales Representatives to drive opportunities and maintain service excellence
- Strong organisational and reporting skills, including customer planning, CRM/database management, preparation of monthly reports and accurate recording of activity
- A full driving licence is essential, along with the motivation to achieve KPI targets including quality calls, proactive quote follow-up, customer agreement management and regular attendance at trade days, meetings and customer events
