A career without limits

As the nation's flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It's something we've been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world's first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It's the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you're inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways, the sky is never the limit.

The role

Technical Specialist - PCI

As a Technical Specialist within Digital Delivery, you'll play a critical role in ensuring payment compliance standards, policies and processes are met and maintained across customer and commercial systems.

This is a hands-on technical role. You'll be expected to bring strong practical experience of payments, tokenisation and card data environments, and the technical credibility to work directly with delivery and product teams on how compliance is designed, implemented and evidenced within real systems.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical assurance that payment-related technologies meet internal and industry PCI compliance standards across digital delivery
  • Work hands-on with card and payment technologies, supporting delivery teams to design, build and maintain compliant solutions
  • Translate internal and external compliance standards into practical technical solutions and delivery practices
  • Support product and delivery teams in identifying and remediating compliance issues arising from new or updated standards
  • Provide clear, concise reporting on compliance-related delivery to digital leadership and contribute to future planning cycles
  • Enable product and delivery teams to meet compliance standards in a self-sufficient and sustainable way
  • Identify and drive improvements in compliance-related tooling, practices and ways of working
  • Ensure roles and responsibilities for maintaining compliance are clearly understood across digital delivery
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance and governance on payments compliance
  • Support the transition of compliance practices into application and product teams
  • Track emerging technologies relevant to payments compliance and support adoption of value-adding solutions aligned to architecture and cyber governance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
