Technical Specification Manager

Technical Specification Manager – London (On-Site)

About the Role

FireAngel Safety Technology is a home safety technology specialist, leading innovation in IoT and AI solutions tailored to the needs of housing providers. Since 1998, the company has installed over 80 million devices, protecting more than 25 million homes and building strong partnerships with retail, trade, and local Fire & Rescue Services. Backed by more than 80 technology patents, the UK-based research and development team specialises in adaptable, future-proof home safety solutions.

The Technical Specification Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed technical specifications for FireAngel’s products and solutions, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales teams to translate technical features into clear, actionable specifications.
  • Create and update documentation for tenders, proposals, and regulatory submissions.
  • Support housing providers and trade partners with accurate technical information.
  • Review and update specifications to reflect product changes and conduct technical assessments.
  • Provide guidance on best practices in home safety technology.
  • Support internal training on product specifications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation processes.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in technical specification management, technical documentation, or product management within technology, IoT, or safety-related industries.
  • Strong understanding of product standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements, particularly in building safety, housing, or fire protection.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information and communicate it clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and customer support teams.
  • Proficiency in Office documentation tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, collaborative platforms) and basic data analysis skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and project management skills to handle multiple deadlines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in engineering, technical disciplines, or related fields.
  • Additional experience in home safety, fire safety, or housing technology.
  • Comfortable with on-site work in London and direct engagement with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical queries.
