Technical Supervisor – Sky Sports

Role/Team Overview

Working at Sky Sports as a member of the Technical Management team is an exhilarating and dynamic environment that combines the excitement of live sport with cutting-edge technology. Managing the intricate technical workflows on our News channels or orchestrating the seamless delivery of UHD content on a Premier League match, you are at the forefront of the action. Being part of Sky Sports means you're constantly surrounded by a passionate and driven group of colleagues who share your enthusiasm for technology. Collaboration is key, and you’ll work with some of the brightest minds in the industry, continually learning and growing in an environment that values innovation and excellence.

As a Technical Supervisor, you will provide on-the-day technical ownership of productions, ensuring client confidence across all aspects of gallery delivery. Reporting into a Studios Technical Manager, you’ll work closely with Studios craft teams across a broad range of Sky’s innovative facilities and systems, including remote and cloud productions.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide first-line technical support, acting as the key point-of-contact for engineering incidents affecting gallery and production operations, liaising directly with Production teams, and escalating as appropriate.
  • Set up galleries, studios, and equipment, ensuring visually and by ear that signal paths are correctly aligned. Configure systems technically to meet broadcast standards.
  • Route internal and external sources, manage floor vision monitoring, and in-vision monitoring, liaising with other technical areas, OBs, remote productions, and MCRs to ensure content goes to air correctly.
  • Match signals, balance colour, and adjust video levels by eye using appropriate interfaces, measuring devices, and monitoring to achieve broadcast standards.
  • Develop, contribute to, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Opportunity for travel to support OB technical rigs and operations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
