About The Role
As our new Technical Support Engineer, you will be instrumental in delivering expert technical assistance for telemetry tools and sensor equipment. Your primary focus will be diagnosing issues, providing timely solutions, and supporting both our customers and internal teams to ensure the seamless operation of critical water infrastructure. Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 3 years of experience in technical support, field engineering, or a related role involving telemetry, sensors, or instrumentation.
- A solid understanding of communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, and Cellular IoT, along with sensor technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hardware and software systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Educational qualifications such as an HNC/HND or degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
Preferred additional experience includes familiarity with water or pump industry applications, SCADA systems, IoT platforms, and cloud-based monitoring solutions.
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to telemetry tools, sensor equipment, and associated software platforms.
- Providing remote and on-site support to customers and field engineers, ensuring minimal downtime of critical systems.
- Collaborating with product development and engineering teams to escalate complex issues and provide valuable field insights for continuous improvement.
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles to support ongoing training and support efforts.
- Supporting the installation, commissioning, and configuration of telemetry and sensor solutions to ensure optimal performance.
- Identifying recurring issues and recommending product or process improvements to enhance reliability and customer satisfaction.
